Credit by Examination

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) gives you the opportunity to receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any of the CLEP exams. Earn credit for knowledge you've acquired through independent study, prior course work, on-the-job training, professional development, cultural pursuits, or internships.

Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support or DSST offers credit-by-exam programs for members of the U.S. military. A list of tests can be found here.

You can receive an unlimited number of semester hours toward your Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from CLEP or DSSTs. However, the CLEP/DSST exams must relate to the other courses in your degree module(s) and you must work closely with your academic advisor to make sure you will still meet all graduation requirements (for example, CLEP/DSST exams do not count toward the residency requirement for graduation).

Contact your academic advisor to see how these credit-by-examination programs can help you earn your degree.
