Mr. Andrade is a native Texan who spent his formative years in San Antonio. He is a product of the Texas public schools system. Mr. Andrade is a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War where he earned the U. S. Air Force Commendation Medal. Subsequent to his U. S. Air Force Honorable Discharge, Mr. Andrade continued serving the U.S. Air Force as a Federal Employee in various Aircraft Maintenance occupations for an additional 32 years where he held several leadership or management positions for 22 of those 32 years of Federal Service. Mr. Andrade retired from Federal Service in 2001. Mr. Andrade began working at Texas State University as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Occupational Education Program in 2001. Mr. Andrade has provided lectures on leadership, communication, and labor and employee relations for the Certified Public Manager’s program. He has taught all of the undergraduate courses for the Trades & Industry Teacher Certification program. Mr. Andrade’s passion is to help all students achieve their educational goals.
Mr. Andrade serves the Department of Occupational, Workforce and Leadership Studies by teaching Trades and Industry Teacher Certification courses. He reviews the Statement of Qualifications for applicants to the Trades and Industry Teacher Certification Program. Mr. Andrade is also a Graduate Student Advisor.
